ABOUT THE BOOK
Need help finding the CBD? How about an easy fix for scanning the pancreas? This book is a hard cover upgraded version of my worn out little red notebook I carried with me during clinicals back in 2011. It turned into a handy mix of ultrasound techniques, inspirational quotes, and useful information to help techs of all levels, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in the game for a while!
I’m all about sharing fun and inspiring resources for all sonographers, no matter their experience level. My mission is to help sonographers gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to really shine in their work! With practice and time it will get easier as you learn your own techniques. I’ve even added blank pages to the back of the book so that you can add your OWN notes!

BIOGRAPHY

I jumped into my Ultrasound career back in 2012 as a per diem tech after school, bouncing around several registries and scanning at around twelve different locations for my first three years. I really wanted to soak up as much experience as I could, especially since I was getting back on my feet after being laid off during the 2008 recession. With my background in graphic art and photography, plus medical experience as a Diver Medic and Wound Care Technician in a hyperbaric chamber, making the switch to a career in Ultrasound felt pretty seamless.
I picked up a ton of experience with all sorts of machines, protocols, pathologies and radiologists, which really helped my career take off. In just three years, I managed to get my ARDMS certification in Abdomen, OBGYN, Breast, and Vascular specialties. This mix of experiences pumped me up and made me excited to keep growing and share my love for the field teaching others. My goal is to make it as simple as possible by explaining some of the tricks I’ve learned over the years with new sonographers and even those who have been in the field for a while.

“Your book is not only warming and excellent, it deeply resonates with those of us that have an unbridled passion that is hard to explain why we do what we do! Except to say we are blessed by God for the incredible gift we have been given. With your contribution to our profession and the patients you serve, the students you train will be blessed with the wisdom you have learned and put to pen over the years!”
“Your book is so interesting, I started reading it last night. I love learning about the medical field. I particularly like the “why” are you taking that image chapter!”
