BIOGRAPHY

I kicked off my Ultrasound career in 2012 as a per diem tech fresh out of school, bouncing between multiple registries and scanning at a dozen or so locations during my first few years. I was all about gaining as much hands-on experience as possible so I could grow into a confident, capable tech. With a background in graphic art and photography — and previous medical experience as a Diver Medic and Wound Care technician in a hyperbaric chamber — the transition into Ultrasound felt like a natural next step.
Those early years gave me exposure to all kinds of machines, protocols, pathologies and radiologists, which fast-tracked my growth in the field. Within three years, I earned my ARDMS certifications in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular. The variety kept things exciting and fueled my passion for learning — and later, teaching. Now, my focus is on making scanning easier for other sonographers, whether they’re just getting started or have years of experience, by passing along the techniques and shortcuts I have learned during my career.
